Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was one of 2017’s best games, not only being critically well received, but also nominated for a number of VGAs, and rightfully so.
The game thus far has been exclusive to PS4 and Steam, however the game could now potentially be making its way to Xbox One.
According to the Taiwanese Game Software Rating Regulations website, the game has recently been rated for Xbox One, which suggests a release at some time this year for the Microsoft console. Coincidentally the game was also recently reclassified on the Australian Classification website as multi-platform,which further supports the case for an Xbox release.
The game was first announced by Ninja Theory way back in 2014 at Gamescom, and described as coming ‘first to console’ to PS4. Following its release last year, we may expect to see an Xbox release after a 12 month exclusivity with PlayStation.
Ninja Theory have described the game as an ‘Independent AAA‘ title, in the sense of owning and developing a AAA IP, with an independent developer approach and a lower price point.
Both Xbox and Ninja Theory have yet to comment on any official release for Xbox, so take these rumours with a grain of salt, but I’ll remain hopeful for the time being as Hellblade running on the Xbox One X is something to be excited for.
