Now take this with a grain of salt, but at the time of writing this article the following information has not been fully confirmed by any official party and is based on, very credible, information leaks.
You remember that super-secret Marvel project that Telltale announced way back in 2015? Well, it’s Guardians of the Galaxy, at least if the new wave of freshly baked information leaks is to be believed.
According to Eurogamer, this information comes courtesy of the currently on going strike of the video game voice actors, and has listed Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy as one of the projects that have been effected as a cause of the strikes. Now I’m not going to get into the actual strikes themselves, we’re here to talk about VIDYA GAEMS, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
If this information is to be believed then I am over the moon with this, the Guardians of the Galaxy expertly moulded by the loving hands of Telltale games is a match made in heaven.
Now that’s literally all the information we have, it doesn’t state whether or not the game will follow the movies or if it will be a brand new adaptation from the comics lore, but either way would work and I would welcome either way with loving embrace. Just take the first Guardians movie, hardly anyone knew who they were, and it was Marvel’s first big movie risk, but it worked out almost perfectly and opened the doors to so much more in this universe.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I was a massive Guardians fan, I was aware of them but I certainly never read any of their books or stories in the years I was reading comics, but after the movie I fell in love and can’t wait for more of these characters.
If they pull a Game of Thrones style game and tie it in to the movie universe, with some voice talent from the actors perhaps, that would be incredible, but at the same time I would just as excited for a brand new story, in a brand new universe, with a brand new baby Groot!
This is all currently speculation, strong speculation, but speculation nonetheless. The main question is though, what do YOU think about this? Let me know in the comments below, or hit me up on Twitter at any time, I’m pretty much there always anyways.
