Shocker revealed through leaked images for Spider-Man: Homecoming!

One thing that I really liked about The Amazing Spider-Man was the villains. Not necessarily the portrayal of the villains (they were pretty bad), but the actual characters themselves, in the sense that they used lesser known villains from Spidey’s rouge gallery, and some villains that were making their big screen debut. Sure the more popular bad guys from Peter Parker’s world are amazing, especially when he comes up against foes such as the Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom, but I am itching for a more diverse world of villainy in these movies, and that seems to be exactly what Spider-Man: Homecoming is giving us.

It has been rumoured for a while that Shocker would be a villain in the Marvel movie, and recent set photo leaks seem to confirm just that.

First off, I liked the look of this incarnation of Shocker, it looks very home-made and amateur and very grounded in tech, which is similar to the story in the comic books.

Fun fact: Shocker doesn’t actually shock Spider-Man, his gloves emit high powered concussive blasts at a very high frequency in quick succession, pretty much punching Spider-Man really fast, really quick and really hard, constantly.

I don’t know why I included that fun fact, maybe it’ll become a regular feature. Regardless I like the fact that Shocker is in the movie, it goes back to my earlier point of introducing and including lesser know villains that are fan favourite’s from the comics. Coupling this with the Vulture and the Tinkerer, this is a Spider-Man movie that we have never seen before. You know what I mean.

Although we do technically have three villains in this movie, I don’t think they will be handled the same way as The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Vulture will be the big bad of the movie, with the tinkerer making a small appearance, perhaps kitting out Vulture and Shocker with more high-tech upgrades, and I believe Shocker will be a smaller appearance akin to that of Crossbones in the recent Captain America: Civil War.

Shocker may not be one of my favourite Spider-Man villains, but he’s certainly a character I am excited about. I remember the first time I properly came across the character was in the Spider-Man game for the original PlayStation, Enter Electro, and then afterwards in the official Spider-Man game with Toby Maguire. Although I believe he was called The Cushion in that game.

But the question is, what do YOU think about these leaked photos, and are you excited for Shocker to make a live action appearance in the MCU. Let me know in the comments below, or hit me up on Twitter.
